Our Story

We are forging a path to inclusive well-being for all beings.

Our Vision:

We envision a world where all people, animals, and the planet thrive in a state of well-being, happiness, and interconnection.

Our Mission:

Advancing the interconnection of nature, wildlife, and human well-being so animals, people, and the planet can thrive.

OneNature Programs and Services:

OneNature brings a focus on human well-being to development, conservation, and climate projects, supporting transformational financial, programmatic, and community outcomes. OneNature also brings human-centered program design, monitoring, and evaluation approaches to the sector. We have validated, peer-reviewed tools and participatory processes to measure and enhance community well-being, which are critical for measuring social impacts, for adaptive management, and as an early warning system for conflict. Our approach, developed through decades of experience, is a key step to the long-term sustainability and effectiveness of investments to reverse the extinction and climate crises and to secure human rights and social resilience.  OneNature’s programs and research will lead to more socially just and long-lasting policies and approaches, and to thriving resilient communities.

OneNature will help get there by working on three integrated focus areas: data-driven research, holistic community projects, and transformational systems change.

OneNature's Theory of Change Infographic

Sir David Attenborough

Ultimately we depend upon the natural world for every mouthful of food that we eat and indeed every lung full of air that we breathe. I mean, if it wasn’t for the natural world the atmosphere would be depleted from oxygen tomorrow.  If there were no trees around, we would suffocate. I mean– and actually, in the course of this particular pandemic that we’re going through, I think people are discovering that they need the natural world for their very sanity. People who have never listened to a bird song, are suddenly thrilled, excited, supported, inspired by the natural world. And they realize they’re not apart from it. They are part of it.
