As we reflect on what we are grateful for this year, we would like to also acknowledge that Thanksgiving is a day of grieving and remembrance for many Indigenous and Native communities in the United States. We like to look at Thanksgiving as a time to be grateful in our lives and a time for honoring and thanking our nation’s first settlers. We invite you to learn more about the intricate history of Thanksgiving<\/a> and the history of the land where you live<\/a>. This holiday season, one way to support Native and Indigenous communities is by \u2018Shopping Native\u2019<\/a> or supporting Native and Indigenous artists and creators.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Our exceptional <\/b>Board<\/b><\/a> and <\/b>Advisory Council<\/b><\/a>. Thank you for being so generous and gracious with your time and energy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n All of the outstanding interns, volunteers, and contractors<\/b> we\u2019ve had the pleasure of working with. A special thank you to <\/span>Taproot<\/span><\/a> for connecting us with Gail Straus, <\/span>GKS Consulting<\/span><\/a>, and Steven Visconti from <\/span>SJV\/NY Designs<\/span><\/a>. We would not have been able to make the progress we\u2019ve made this past year without all of the help from you talented individuals!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The academic and conservation partners<\/b> that we had the pleasure of working with on the papers we have gotten published this past year, as well as the ones that have not yet been published (but will be soon).<\/span><\/p>\n A special thank you to the coauthors of the \u201c<\/span>Tethering Natural Capital and Cultural Capital for a More Sustainable Post-COVID-19 World<\/span><\/a>\u201d paper.\u201c<\/span>Bolstering community well-being through wildlife conservation: Broadened approaches engaging wildlife well-being and indigenous wisdom<\/span><\/a>\u201d paper. And lastly, thank you to all of the amazing collaborators for their contributions to our newest paper, \u201cThe Role of Community Spiritual and Cultural Connections in Wildlife Conservation: A Thematic Model of Social Justice and Sustainability from Cases Across the World,\u201d which will be released shortly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n We are grateful; for all of our partners, including <\/b>The National Pedagogic University (UPN) in Kinshasa DRC, Purdue University\u2019s Happiness Learning Collaborative, The Happiness Alliance, and <\/span>Columbia University Climate School’s Sustainability Management Capstone Workshop team.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n We are also very grateful<\/b> to e<\/span>veryone who collaborated on our OneNature report release: \u201c<\/span>Advancing Well-being for All Beings<\/span><\/a>\u201d and the launch event for \u201cfamily and friends\u201d of OneNature, and those who assisted through coverage in partner blogs and social media, including the <\/span>Wellbeing Economy Alliance<\/span><\/a> and the <\/span>Green Economy Coalition<\/span><\/a> and others who invited us to share our work including the <\/span>International Society of Quality of Life Studies, the Luxembourg Statistical Office (STATEC), the Asheville Wisdom Exchange, Forces of Nature podcast.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Last but not least, our wonderful and dedicated supporters.<\/b> We are incredibly thankful for those of you who continue to support, donate, and share our <\/span>blog posts<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>newsletters<\/span><\/a>.
