As we reflect on another transformative year at OneNature, we’re proud to share our 2024 Annual Report—a reflection of what we’ve accomplished together and a look ahead at the path we’re building for people, wildlife, and the planet.

From the hills of Rwanda to the forests of Laos, from research publications to on-the-ground workshops, 2024 was a year of connection, co-creation, and progress. At the heart of it all: our belief that conservation is most effective when it centers human well-being alongside environmental outcomes.

Advancing Conservation Through Well-Being

At OneNature, we know that protecting nature and supporting people are not separate goals—they are deeply interconnected. That’s why we use our Wild Happiness approach, a data-driven framework to assess and strengthen the well-being of communities living alongside wildlife.

In 2024, our Wild Happiness work expanded across multiple regions and disciplines:

We also laid the groundwork for our Wild Happiness Certification program, designed to help organizations adopt ethical, people-centered conservation strategies—and gain recognition for it.

Research, Storytelling, and Systems Change

In 2024, we brought OneNature’s message to global stages:

  • Speaking at international conferences in Washington D.C., Austin, Italy, and virtually around the world
  • Collaborating with thought leaders to influence policy, practice, and funding in conservation and climate resilience

This year, we also launched new tools and resources, including our free downloadable guide, “10 Ways to Feel More Connected in Your Life”, which offers simple, research-backed practices to help individuals reconnect with nature and their communities. You can download it here.

What’s Ahead in 2025

Thanks to your continued support, we’re entering 2025 with momentum and a bold vision. This year, we will:

  • Launch our Nepal Snow Leopard Expedition with partners including Pangje Foundation, Joe Rohde, and Natalie Schmidt
  • Roll out the first cohort of Wild Happiness Certified Organizations
  • Publish new research on well-being in climate projects and cultural keystone species
  • Continue expanding our reach into new regions and partnerships

A Message of Gratitude

None of this would be possible without our generous donors, dedicated partners, and incredible community of supporters around the world. You’ve helped us demonstrate that conservation can be a joyful, inclusive, and healing force—for people and planet alike.
