As the season of gratitude approaches, we at OneNature want to take a moment to reflect on the journey we’ve shared with you this past year. In a world where conservation efforts can sometimes feel like an uphill battle, your support has been a source of inspiration and hope. At OneNature, our mission has always been to put the well-being of people and the conservation of wildlife at the heart of conservation, and thanks to you, we’ve made meaningful strides toward this vision.
This year, your generosity has helped us deepen our work in communities that live alongside nature, supporting them in ways that honor their connection to the land, wildlife, and each other. From the hills of Rwanda to the valleys of Laos, we’ve seen firsthand how a focus on well-being can transform ecosystems and lives.
Reflecting on the Past Year: Your Impact
As we look back, we are filled with gratitude for the milestones we’ve achieved together:
- Supporting Communities in Rwanda: Your support allowed us to partner with Red Rocks Initiative in conducting a well-being survey for communities near Volcanoes National Park. As the park expands to accommodate a growing mountain gorilla population, these communities face new challenges. Because of you, we’ve been able to listen, learn, and start providing the support they need to thrive amidst change.
- Inspiring a New Conservation Approach: Thanks to your belief in our work, we have further developed and shared our Wild Happiness framework, which places people’s well-being at the center of conservation efforts. From international conferences to local workshops, your support has allowed us to inspire others to rethink what conservation can be.
- Laying the Groundwork for New Projects: Your commitment has helped us lay the foundation for new Wild Happiness initiatives, including innovative projects that blend art, music, and nature to support communities living alongside snow leopards in Nepal. This work shows that conservation can be about more than just protecting species—it can be about nurturing the happiness and resilience of the people who share their land with wildlife.
A Season of Gratitude and Giving
As we gather around tables filled with family, friends, and good food, we are deeply aware of how much we have to be thankful for. Every achievement we’ve celebrated this year is a reflection of your support. You have not only believed in our vision but have actively helped us turn it into reality. For this, we are endlessly grateful.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to continue building on this momentum. While there is still much to be done, we are heartened by the progress we’ve made together. As we approach Giving Tuesday on December 3rd, we invite you to join us again in this shared journey. Not as an obligation but as an opportunity to continue the impact we’ve already started together.
Thank You for Being Part of the OneNature Family
We are grateful to have a community like you—a community that understands that true conservation is about more than protecting landscapes; it’s about nurturing the bonds between people, wildlife, and the natural world. Whether you’ve donated, shared our mission, attended our events, or simply followed along with our journey, your support has meant the world to us.
This Thanksgiving, we give thanks for you. Your generosity, belief in our mission, and willingness to take action makes our work possible. Thank you for standing with us, believing in the power of community-led conservation, and helping us create a world where well-being is at the heart of it all.
