John Waugh

Sector Lead: Biodiversity & Climate
John brings deep expertise in sustainable finance, climate adaptation, and nature-based solutions to OneNature’s work across biodiversity and climate sectors. With decades of experience designing environmental programs across Africa and globally, he ensures that sustainability strategies are grounded in systemic thinking and community realities.
He has led UN-level delegations, managed multi-million dollar climate programs, and authored over 30 publications on environmental policy, ESG, and development. John specializes in benefit-sharing mechanisms, risk analysis, and climate-biodiversity frameworks that incorporate wellbeing data at every step.
What he brings: Strategic design for climate and biodiversity solutions, grounded in policy fluency, frontline insight and field experience.

Lorraine Flood

Lorraine Flood is a dedicated virtual assistant and online business manager at OneNature Institute, where she expertly handles financial management and the creation of newsletters, presentations, and other vital communications. Based in Dublin, Ireland, Lorraine combines her extensive corporate background with a well-being-focused approach to business support, ensuring a balance of efficiency and well-being in her work.
With a BSc in Property & Facilities Management from DIT Bolton Street, Dublin, and experience as an Executive Assistant in New York City, Lorraine has honed her skills in high-paced, dynamic environments. In 2022, she founded The Hummingbird Collective, offering a range of virtual assistant services, business setup, and mentoring, all underscored by a commitment to well-being.
As a solo mother by choice, Lorraine values flexibility and work-life balance, which she integrates into her professional ethos. Her work ethic and values perfectly align with those of OneNature, making her a perfect match to work with us. Her passion for well-being and dedication to her clients make her an invaluable member of the OneNature team.

Beth Allgood
Founder & Advisor
Beth is an internationally recognized leader in aligning human wellbeing with conservation and climate goals. With more than 25 years working at the intersection of biodiversity and community development, she founded OneNature to help organizations reimagine sustainability through the lens of trust, equity, and lived experience.
Beth has led program and policy work at USAID, WWF, the International Fund for Animal Welfare (as U.S. Director), and The Nature Conservancy. She serves on three IUCN Commissions and advises a number of global organizations. Her work—featured by the Explorers Club as one of “Fifty People Changing the World”—has helped shape a new standard for how wellbeing is measured and integrated into environmental work.
What she brings: Visionary leadership, cross-sector strategy, and a mission to make global policy work for local people and ecosystems.

Ellen Emrich
Ellen Emrich brings over eight years of experience in development, field research, and cross-cultural partnerships across Africa, Central America, and North America. She has conducted population and behavioral ecology fieldwork in diverse ecosystems and directed development for conservation organizations, guiding international teams in translating complex conservation initiatives and data into compelling narratives that engage partners and drive support.
These experiences have deepened her commitment to furthering our understanding of ecological systems and advancing native-led conservation solutions rooted in wellbeing to meet real-world challenges.
At OneNature, Ellen serves as a technical and administrative focal point across projects and partnerships, supporting program management, proposal development, and communications.
What she brings: Field-grounded research, cross-cultural partnership, and development experience.
