OneNature is excited to attend the International Society for Quality of Life Studies Conference ISQOLS 2022 CONFERENCE “Quality-of-Life for Resilient Futures: Sustainability, Equity, and Wellbeing.” OneNature President Beth Allgood will present with Craig Talmage, Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies at Hobart and William Smith Colleges,  about the connections between nature and community wellbeing.

ISQOLs is a fantastic place to learn about the newest quality of life research. It is also wonderful to connect with scholars and practitioners from all over the world who are working on expanding our understanding of the quality of life theory and practice. This year there is a special focus on sustainability, equity, and wellbeing impacts on quality-of-life – topics near and dear to OneNature!

We will present “Rethinking Natural Capital and Cultural Capital for Post-COVID-19 Community Wellbeing Work” on Friday, August 5, at 9 am eastern.  Based on several recently published academic papers, we will share examples of several communities in which the cultural and spiritual ties to nature and wildlife are pivotal for local conservation and what we might learn from these examples in conservation and wellbeing practice.

The latest program and list of speakers can be found here, and information about the conference and how to register is here. There are new, hybrid options if you are interested in attending but can’t get to Vermont in person from August 3-6.
